As 2022 was coming to an end, our supervisor, Michelle Simmons, challenged us to set an intention for the upcoming year by picking one word that would represent our focus. My word was Restore.
I wanted my full health restored in all aspects: physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual, and financial. To achieve that, I intentionally engaged in activities that would nourish me: spending time with loved ones, doing things I enjoyed, resting more, drinking more water, clearing my schedule, learning and trying new things, and so on.
Some people prefer to use SMART goals, vision boards, or written plans to guide their actions. These are all valid methods, and they may not work for everyone. Sometimes they can be too complex, demanding, or unattainable. With the One Word Challenge, we are encouraging you to simplify and transform your life by aligning your actions with your chosen word. Your word can be anything that inspires you: restore, thrive, joy, health, life, balance, etc.
Choosing one word for the year can help you:
- Clarify your vision and purpose
- Stay motivated and inspired
- Overcome challenges and obstacles
- Celebrate successes and achievements
- Improve your well-being
Choosing one word for the year can be a rewarding and meaningful experience that can make 2024 the best year yet. What is your word for 2024?
